His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Hamoud Shafi Al Shafi, Chairman of the Central Municipal Council, received Her Excellency Mrs. Stephanie McCollum, Canada's Ambassador to the State of Qatar, at the headquarters of the Council.
The Ambassador presented her congratulations to His Excellency the Speaker and Vice President, and the members on the occasion of their election to the new session of the Municipal Council, wishing them more success.
The "Al Shafi" expressed his happiness with the visit, then reviewed the democratic experience of the municipal council elections, the most important functions and powers, and communication with officials and various government agencies and ministries to implement the projects of the departments and achieve the requests and aspirations of citizens.
The Ambassador said, We thank you for the good meeting and the warm welcome, and we wish you all the best for the benefit of the homeland and citizens.
